Some people in the 41 or really too serious, have a laugh once in a while even if its @ a lame joke.
(Joking again if it isn't obvious enough)
I find if you use a little talc powder you can go without sock in sandals.

I have many pairs of cycling pants, but no bins.
I've seen many comments here indicating that bibs are supposed to be significantly better. Can someone give me a simple explanation about how and why they're better?
My cycling pants aren't as comfortable as they should be, and after long rides (100 miles plus) I usually have sores on by butt that last a few days. Would a bib help with that?
Also - as someone who has to take nature breaks pretty often - without getting too graphic - how TF do you do that wearing a bib?

ABATT.
(all bibs, all the time)
Some folks will say that their crack doesn't show with shorts, but with all the hot chics that I let pass me, I'm not taking that chance.

I never notice them. Since you already own them, might as well put them in the rotation if feasable.

I don't get the "once you go bibs you'll never go back to shorts again" crowd either.
I like bibs just fine. I own two very nice pair of bibs (one Assos & one Pearl Izumi). I definitely agree with the "they hold the chamois in position" advantage of bibs.
I disagree completely with the "shorts wastebands cut into your stomach" and/or "...are uncomfortable" stuff, I've never had an issue with uncomfortable waistbands.
But the main reason I'm not a complete convert to bibs, the reason while I'll always have a good collection of non-bib cycling shorts, is simple: Bibs are hot.

@OP
"What works for one, my not work for another..."
Give a nice bib a try, they may work for you.
I disagree with bibs being hot, I feel I got hot quicker in shorts, & they hold the heat longer.

I don't know what shorts most of you have tried but not all shorts have an elastic waistband. I wear PI Attack shorts and they have a drawstring that you can tighten if you need to or not use it at all. I've never had any of my shorts slide down on me and I do a lot of long distance riding. It was mentioned that the pros all wear them, well, they also ride $15,000+ bikes, but I don't ride one of those either.

Wrong! Been there done that don't like them. I have tried several different bibs and they all annoyed the crap out me. I can't stand the shoulder straps rubbing on my shoulders and the extra layer of fabric beneath my jersey made it hotter during the ride.

I've never had a problem with the fit of shorts.
The only bibs I own are tights, which are fine until I need to take a serious restroom break.
Of course there *is* a solution for that: https://www.sellesmp.com/smp4bike/en/products/clothing
