Easy quiz

I met some friends for a 60 mile breakfast ride this morning. There were 7 bikes. 5 Waterfords, 1 Colnago and,of course, 1 Trek.
Tell me the average age of the riders and the average speed of the ride. This should be easy based on the bikes!

IDK but the way these usually go is the guy on the cheapest bike was the fastest and they slowed down from there as bike price went up. :)

Do I get a cookie ?

60 mile morning ride on a weekday...are you employed?

NWS Alpine 07-20-12 01:10 PM

Age 65

Avg Speed 13mph

merlinextraligh 07-20-12 01:48 PM

Trick question. Dudes on the Waterfords all used to race on Paramounts and still race Masters.

I'll bet the guy on the Colnago had a hard time keeping up to those other quality bikes :)

Which bike is red?

Probably, every slow guy I knows rides a Colnago. Especially that Voekler guy. :D

Seattle Forrest 07-20-12 02:11 PM

I'm sure the guy on the Trek is the one who was concerned about average speed. ;)

mutantdunk 07-20-12 03:39 PM

55 years old and 19 mph.

slushlover2 07-20-12 04:09 PM

The answer is......... 65 year old average. 17.2 average speed. The guy on the Trek pulled most of the way and is 79 years old.
Take it easy on the Colnago,it's mine.

ultraman6970 07-20-12 04:12 PM

Well 27.68 km/h is not like super fast either. It is ok for guys that age IMO.

pdxtex 07-20-12 04:16 PM

^^ yeah, good one debbie downer. 17 at 65 and the oldest guy is nearly 80. f***, thats my goal. go job guys.

Since this is the 41 and you are in flat Iowa why was the Trek sandbagging so much?

Haven't ridden lots of hills have you :)

danmc 07-20-12 08:16 PM

That's funny because I'm 47yo and yesterday I went on a 40-mile ride and my average was exactly 17.2 mph. I guess this is why I don't go on group rides!
