Steel Bikes: What is your dream bike?

My first choice would be any of the bikes that I built for myself while I was still in the building business. But youth and ignorance led to the sale of all those bikes.
After that, something with Brain OS, sandcast lugs, Henry James stainless dropouts and a HJ sloping fork crown....any reputable builder would do (silver brazed, of course).

Thats some sexy bikes there people...
Mine, was a bike I have previously owned and am still beating myself up for not asking my father to keep it for me while i was over seas. It was a 1976 Raleigh super sport. All original other than cables and tires that had pretty much rotted off. The thing was a tank, and the bottom bracket swayed like a row boat in a sea storm but I can tell you I have never been happier cresting the top of a 15 minute climb than riding that thing...
Memories...
If I had to choose something more "today" it would be the frame i am saving up for to replace my current look 261, a soma smoothie. Thing looks beautiful!

Well I'll be... I didn't know Baum made steel bikes. With the same sexy as their Ti bikes to boot. I'd go for one of those or the tried and true Waterfords.

Well,
I've got a Pegoretti Luigino, a couple of Carl Strong's and a DeRosa Primato. Got a DeKerf steel hardtail MTB, right now I'm thinking something from Sam Whittingham that is. Built to fit like a road bike with dirt drop or on one bars, but takes 29 inch tires (2.2 or 2.4) and rack and fender mounts. Maybe an internals geared hub too.

Well, mine is pretty do-able so I will see my dream come to life. A Rivendell Roadeo (blue with cream headtube) running Ultegra 10 speed, gonna get a set of strong training wheels that are phil hubs laced to velocity synergy rims, then buy some nice lighter weight wheels for it. Will look sort of similar to this.

As far as steel bikes go, I'm pretty happy with my Merckx MX Leader with a mix of different levels of Campy. It's not the lightest, but neither am I! If we were talking about dream steel, I'd probably go with a custom Richard Sachs with Campy Super Record.

Maybe something in stainless. I saw Zullo's booth at NAHBS in Richmond, VA and was impressed by the frames.

Of course, I'd love another Pegoretti

I'm planning on a Jamis when I get home from deployment. Not my dream bike, but nice nonetheless. Some great steel options available right now.

I'd like to try a Pegoretti. Since I don't play the lottery, I'll stick with my current dream steel ride; a Coppi lugged frame made with Columbus Genius tubing.
