+1 for bikesdirect. Hard to beat them for lower end bikes.
+1 for a Kia |
If it gets you riding...
Get what your budget can... |
I just wanna know what the OP's getting :D
Maybe its because you post non-sensical stuff like this all the time.
Enjoy your crappy low end bikes all you want but don't push them in every thread pretending they are great. I highly doubt your BD crap bikes are better than the Trek FX or specialized sirrus models.
:twitchy: :wtf: :twitchy: PS. You must be a Grey Poupon kinda guy.... |

BD really should hook us up though, for so much free support.

Nashbar also has many choices in that price range, especially if you hold your breath for a 20% off sale (they have had two in the past 2 weeks). The fun of Nashbar is that they are unbadged, which lets you have fun if you are of a creative bent.

I recently saw a Raleigh Revenio 1.0 at my local REI on clearance for $475. If you have an REI nearby, it may be worth checking out what they have. The deals were not online.

I guess you value nondescript Chinese made bikes with no R&D behind them over companies that put millions into R&D and set the bar for all other companies to raise themselves to.
perhaps thats why people prefer BMWs over KIAs |

Where were your bikes made? You may want to check that out...
Most adult cyclists already know that most of the world's bicycles are either made in China or Taiwan. Maybe we should be a little more understanding.... |
Good point Slim! And I will do that as I am happy to be going on a 50 mile ride here in an hour, and the weather is perfect for it! (hopefully my Taiwanese built BD bike will hold up ;))

nahhh....you guys and your mature internet memes have shown me the light.
you are absolutely correct. there is no difference between a $400 frame and a $3000+ frame. Its all just marketing. thanks for setting me straight. |

I don't think the OP wants to spend 3k, which i'm pretty sure is the point of the thread.
In fact, the OP should buy a used bike as a starter if he really wants a true road bike in that price range. You guys can hummm and Haaa about how great your $400 bikes are but the reality of the fact is they are crap. But if its the best crap you can afford then you should be happy with it. I know I wouldn't buy a bike like that but then again I care about quality and put a value on that. Others just care about the best deal they can get. If someone can only afford a $200 wallmart bike no one is going to say its a good bike.....it might be the best you can afford but that doesn't make it any good. |
