Addiction - August 2012 addition

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Pardon Me! Regular riders who couldn't care less about amateur racing also couldn't care less about this amateur doping drama. IT'S AMATEUR forchrissakes! So that's how our "ilk" thinks. That's how we roll.

Doesn't make us mediocre, just makes us unconcerned with the amateur drama. When it gets up to professional, THEN we'll take notice. A few of us. Maybe. Because most of us couldn't care less about that either, because that's how our "ilk" rolls. We're just here to chat about riding our freakin' bikes, and to freely express our opinions. Everybody doesn't have to agree about everything.

My own mediocrity and that of my ilk runs deep. Happily, I embrace this, along with my own delusions, and manage to tolerate all the ilky idiots all around me.

Knowing they are delusions is the first step.

Some people here don't know they are delusions. That's when the delusions actually get delusional.

Easy now. Gary is much faster than all of us.

His speed to ahole ratio is pretty good, considering others similarly situated.

My own ahole is on medical leave.

I'm referring to my anatomy Gary, not you and your injured elbow.

I never thought I was fast. Turns out, I'm not.

But I did beat Gary in a race. Once.

Ask the fitter if your Uncle Pcad's assertion that compact cranks are for Girl Scout TTs is correct.

Exactly. It's not my ilk, it's our ilk. I don't care how fast anyone who posts in this thread is, because you're not fast enough.
