Addiction - August 2012 addition

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I find the fact that GBR has won 7 cycling medals to America's 2 particularly facepalmworthy.

This would be a good triathlon for all you fatties:

1st Leg: Team Member 1 eats an order of bacon wrapped tater tots and runs two miles
2nd Leg: Team Member 2 eats 2 slices of crab Rangoon pizza and bikes 5 miles
3rd Leg: Team member 3 eats a poboy and jogs to the aquatic venue where they will paddle across the pool.
4th Leg: Team member 4 shucks and eats an ear of corn and runs two miles
5th Leg: The whole team is back together to devour a plate of Bavarian Nachos and run a final lap

He'd have to go to a different forum for that.

I've been struggling to get my blood pressure under control for a few weeks and I was not succeeding. It was up at 150/90 area. Then a friend told me to get back to doing qi gong breathing exercises and for a week now my blood pressure was down at 120/70 or there abouts. I went to the gym today and afterwards it was down to 105/60.

Tonight I found this video and I followed it for a while and after 15 mins, my blood pressure was 113/60. This deep breathing sure does work.

You're looking kind of round in that video coasting. Are those smoothies low fat?

How do you lower your blood pressure with deep breathing? You deep breathe all day? What about when you sleep?

I like classic smashing pumpkins from the 1990's, but at this point I think the group is just Billy Corgan and some sycophants

Any value to starting a 'Team' on strava??

I am thinking this could be interesting for those in my bike club...or is it just silly?
