Addiction - August 2012 addition

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My semi-communicative cycling group decided to leave an hour early this morning, which they decided in an 11:30 pm e-mail. I got to the start point 40 minutes ahead of the normal start, saw the cars and no bikes, and took off to catch them. 20 mph wind was inconvenient. I caught up to them 43 miles into a 55 mile ride. They had stopped for coffee, which is the only reason I had a chance. I rode with them for about 4 miles, and they then promptly dropped me. I wonder if I should be reading something into this.

Seems like it would be a pretty simple book to read and comprehend to me.

Also, might be a good time to pick up a smart phone so you can check your e-mails in a more timely manner.

Buying a Lexus to make trips to Redbox is like putting a compact crankset on a $10K TT bike.

Our last video store went out of business, redbox is all I have.

As far as the compact I'll make you a deal. Join me for a race some day, you use your standard and I'll take the handicap of using my compact. When you beat me I'll install whatever crankset you tell me to.

My racing days are over. I'll be happy to just get back on a bicycle.

You should listen to me about the compact. I guess you have to learn the hard way.
