Addiction - August 2012 addition

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Feel better knowing that the panoramic roof made it very hot a majority of the time. Mine was a TDi also, and it is amazing the torque those things put out, so much fun.

Don't feel so bad about my race this past weekend. I just got home from the doctor. Sinus infection, bronchitis, if not better by Friday then get x-rays and blood work to make sure I don't have pneumonia. All considering I guess second place wasn't too bad.

Short version..... I still feel like crap and I still like my Lexus.

In case you guys did not already know, a wind/rain vest is probably the most useful cycling item of clothing, besides the obligatory shorts/bibs and shoes.

Mildly annoying: I went online shopping for an ultegra cassette in 12-27 or 12-28. They don't make them!!

Looks like my climbing cassette will have to be a 105 12-27 or a tiagra 12-28, assuming I stick with Shimano.

Maybe time to investigate SRAM...

+1 although that seems a bit high unless your driving like an old lady Normally diesel mileage increases as the engine breaks in a bit.

Of course, if you're going to get a Veyron, you should really spring for the Super Sport WHOOSHIE FACE.

I'd get a Veloster and change the badge to read Velostar.

Wonder if anyone rents Velosters...
