Addiction - August 2012 addition

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yeah. Built a house for the past year. Needed a sewer pump sent from new jersey (figures) and the effin shipping company lost it twice. We moved out of our other Place 10 days ago and spent a week in a hotel. Got a port o potty yesterday.

35% tint removed, 5% strip on the front, 18% on the sides, 10% on the rear window. Then some soap, water, followed up with some liquid glass. I like my white mini car.

A Focus was the first 6-speed I ever drove and it was pretty fun. Later that year I got to roll an Evo VIII, though. OMG, orgasmic.

Nice. Gas guzzling roof rack aside. I guess that's your automotive version of the compact crank.

The car is a good looker man. Never get tired of mine. Great styling.

Other than the power the performance of this vehicle is awesome. It's amazing how nice it handles. I've had plenty of high performance vehicles in my life. Having a fast vehicle really isn't nearly as important to me at this stage of my life as having a vehicle I can drive close to 400 miles for $30.

About to go on a Strava run, looked up some segments and I got a driver on one of them! Is there a way to flag someone's segment ride?

Correct. It's slow, but when you put it in Sport mode it gets an extra boost from the electric motor,so at speeds up to 50 mph it's actually reasonably peppy. You really only start feeling the lack of power on the highway, particularly at speeds over 70mph.

But the car's handling (which is most of the battle) is fantastic.

Up Coal Creek Canyon to the P2P, Nederland, Ward, down Lefthand to Lee Hill, then back home. I'll miss the fun on Flagstaff, but I think I'll have a good time, and get some good miles in, and hopefully a picture or two.

I go through phases with that site. I go a month without going there, then I spend a few hours drooling.
