Stability and stickyness of TwoFish Bottle Cage Adapters?
 

All right, since this is the 41, I figure I can get some good info, since it is about the bike. It's always about the bike.

My bike is a roadworthy vintage frame without lugs, so I want use something like a pair of TwoFish Bottle cage adapters and rid myself of the water bottle fanny pack.

Do you use them on the down tube? I'm thinking a full bottle would want to fall sideways. Are the Two Fish adapters pretty sticky so they don't twist or fall sideways?

Any experience with damaging decals on the tubes? My seat tube is pretty much one big decal and I don't want to damage it any more than it is already.

Oh - and one more: any opinion on the adapter/cage prebuilt vs the adapters that I can screw in my own cage too?

There's another recent thread titled "water" that has some info for you.

Personally, I really like the Elite VIP universal cage mounts. You attach them where you want on the down tube and seat tube, then mount whatever cage you like to the bosses. I think they look cleaner than most the other solutions. And they function well with full bottles.
