over the counter anti fungal athletes foot recommendations...

figured this is a good as place as any to get some recommendations.
If I'm not careful, athletes foots between the toes can come back surprisingly easy (worse when it is very hot and muggy as it is now) and was wondering what others use.
I'm sure the pharmacy will give recommendations but would appreciate experience from some of you who have the same experience as myself and have found something that works well.
I use wool socks mostly now as for my feet, I find them to be better for keeping my feet drier, which generally helps. I also always air out my shoes on my back porch with the insoles pulled out, which makes a big difference in keeping them keeping the funky shoe smell down, a big difference from when I never did this.

as I said, despite always using clean socks, and keeping shoes in good shape, I am always surprised how it can come back.

thanks

For me, the brand doesn't matter as much as the delivery mechanism.

Powders do nothing.
"Spray" powders do even less.
Aerosol sprays do nothing.
Those little "pump-action" mist bottles are the answer.

I've used tinactin with good results and whatever the yellow one is. Basically, I'll buy whichever brand comes in a little pump bottle because I've always had good results with those.

Also, about socks....I don't really follow this advice, but a long time ago, a doctor told me to always wear cotton socks because they absorb more moisture. He told me to only wear cotton socks forever, and to never sleep with socks on.

Also, you can put one of those padded "cut-to-size" insoles in your shoe, and that will help with the moisture and smell. I use these in all of my shoes...including cycling shoes.

get the tinactin that is called "liquid spray" which comes in the aerosol can. wash your feet, dry your feet, spread your toes and spray the top, between them, and the bottom of them. wool socks are fine but don't rewear them, regardless of how "clean" they smell. good luck.
