Piece of Bike Forums history now on Ebay -- paint job 6 years in the making

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

This thread makes me sad/happy. I think you should have fed the frame into a tree chipper and sold the bits to BF members for $10 each. You could have made a few grand I bet.

Some how I missed this thread the first time around, thanks for bumping it again. (Serious, not sarcasm!)

55/Rad, I hope all is well!

I missed this thread the first time too. Kind of a sad end but us old-timers will still refer to "Rad's Tete" nonetheless.

That thing would've fit me too.

(and I would've left the Schwinn badge on too)

Hmmm... If Rad bought it used in 2004, how could it be a 2005 frameset?

...So the frame is 2 years older than the last time it was on eBay and it's starting bid is already more than it sold for last time? Aren't bikes supposed to depreciate?

@55/Rad do you have a website showcasing your photography of bikes? Or anywhere I could see larger photos of the bikes in your signature?

Interesting that it is back on Ebay. And for anyone interested in purchasing it, I'm happy to provide details. It really is a nice frame and I might have kept it if it didn't remind me each and every day of the time it took to actually get it done.

I was a much more aggressive rider in 2004 at the age of 44 than I am now. 57 was on the small side for me but I like that size back then. By the time I actually got the frame back 6 years later, I'd moved on from that mindset.

I don't have a website but I did create a demo montage of some of my work...it's short and incomplete but you'll get a taste - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSFBlPdyhHE

Beautiful. I had to stop on the Campagnolo RD. Great lighting and reflection.
