SRAM/Shimano compatability

I don't know a whole lot about sram components - if i were to use a shimano compatible double road crankset (50T-34T) & cassette (like 11T-32T 10 speed), would a sram apex shifters, front & rear derailleur be compatible with this drivetrain?

Yes. I run Sram Rival shifters, front derailleur, and Apex mid cage rear with Shimano 105 compact crank and an Ultegra 11-28 cassette with no problems.
