got hit by a truck today while riding
Some jerk in a large pickup truck smacked me square in the back and shoulders with his side mirrors and never stopped....luckily I did not fall off the bike and mirrors today do fold back but man o man it was loud and scared the heck out of me..My back is sore now but lucily no other injuries.
Just wondering is that a hit and run? I was soo PO.

Do you remember anything about the vehicle? That's enough for a report. Give a description, time, place, and direction. If the police decide to watch that route, and it happens to be a place the driver goes frequently, it may end in an arrest, or a questioning, or at the very least *IF* the driver didn't REALLY intend to hit you, and thought you had enough room to be passed, it may lead to another driver giving a bit more space.
I hate to think your pain and potential serious injury would be the cost, but I do at least hope the driver is cowering away somewhere right now hoping not to be caught, and I hope even more the driver is looking up laws regarding cyclists. I ultimately hope (s)he gets recognized and pulled over.

Thanks for your support. I had a phone on me but never thought to call it in...I was almost fearful he would come back since I was screaming with the finger. I was surprised that not a single person stopped.
I am OK and do not know what town I was in at the time 15 miles from my home up in the woods.

Yay for having cameras on my bike! Had this happen and they loved hearing later on that I had a camera catch it all.

There are a lot of places I've been through which change towns, even counties, without any sign ti indicate as much. Looking up addresses sometimes shows me towns between towns I didn't know were there, or that a town is a lot larger than I though it was. On a lot of back roads it's all too possible to not know what the town is until you reach your destination.

report it, always report it.
The Dr. in Ca. that was awarded prison time (last year or the year before )for slamming on his brakes and forcing the 2 cyclist to rear end him, may have gotten off if it were from not for the police report for a previous incident.
Glad you are ok.

I'm glad the mirror folded.I knew a Dr. whose handlebar got caught in the mirror of a old van.The van didn't stop for two blocks with the guy screaming the whole time.He stayed upright until the van stopped, and never rode a bike again. And yes, it is a hit and run. This person knew they hit you

Amazing you managed to stay upright. Good for you and glad to hear the injuries are minor. Agree you should report it but doubtful anything will come of it. You never know, though... others may have experienced the same thing by the same idiot and this may help police put it together.

Should be a hit and run regardless, vehicular assault if it was intentional (hard to prove), and probably an improper care or reckless to boot. I know it is hard to have the presence of mind after being swacked to get a license # but even a description can be helpful for police. While PD may or may not take harassing cyclists seriously, they tend to get more aggressive against people who actually make contact. If this is somebody's idea of fun, he/she has probably done it before and if there are multiple complaints with similar events and descriptions the chances of the driver suffering real consequences are higher. Report it.

Happy you are ok, A friend of mine back in the day noticed a car with 5 teens screaming at him. When they come really close he stopped pedaling because was a climb, speed went almost down to zero and at that momment one of the kids got the bad idea of taking his arm out of the window and slap him in the back. Looks like he broke his arm because the kids was screaming like crazy and my friend heard a nice crack sound too. Wonder how do you explain that your younger brother snapped his arm in such a way w/o telling the truth.
I been lucky in the streets... glad you are fine OP. Sure the guy lives close and you will see the truck again.
