Got my first road bike!

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Got my first road bike!

Nothing super nice or overly expensive; it is a Giant Defy 5 2013 model that I got Friday night. Between the maiden voyage Friday night and the 2nd ride Saturday morning I put over 25 miles on it so far. It's all I can think about now lol, found my new hobby I am still reading about the rules of riding and proper etiquette for being a road biker , but I'm so happy to have found something healthy and fun to do!

I also have a Gary fisher wahoo 2006 model that gets riden occasionally, but I think I'm going to put some serious miles on the defy5 while getting My exercise on lol

If by flip it you mean don't lay your bike down on the ground on top of the drive train, I totally agree.

lol thanks for responses guys! And in the first pictures its laying on the right pedal and handle bar on the hill infront of my house, the drive train is not touching the ground ( if by that you mean the rear chain stuff thingy. part. ya. )

And I didnt know i could flip the bar stem over, i hadn't even looked at that. I will flip it if possible! Im forcing myself to ride in the drops as frequently as I can so that I increase flexibility etc

If they fit you at your LBS wait to flip the stem, until you are more flexible.

LBS = Local Bike Shop.
Damn that MR2 sounds like a blast!!!
I've actually been looking for one myself, it was one of my favorite cars in high school. Don't know what Toyota was thinking when they made the MR-S?
Pretty much the same thing Mazda did with the Rx-7/FD, when they went with the RX-8.

Even if just for your photo bad habit LOL

lol ok last time I will say it: the rear derailleur was never in contact with the ground. EVER. just to clear that up

and you share my view point on the MR-S. The rx8 belongs on the same list as a tame gf's car. Weak sauce indeed. I love the FD alot personally, I would love to own one with an LS1 in it honestly
