anime themed jersey?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I've heard of it. I just didn't think it was something for adults to talk about.

Hell, the dubbed by Disney with top rate actors version of Spirited Away won best actor and I think Howl's Moving Castle was nominated. So yeah, anime is around and has been in US pop culture for at least 20 years by this point.
I wouldn't equate Miyazaki's films to anime. Sure, it's animation but I'd make a distinction. Other's might not.

Too kiddie to be true anime? I suppose I could see that. What about Princess Monoke (that's a Miyazaki or at least studio Ghibli, right)? That got a lot of press when it first came out in theaters here and with its message (sort of like avatar), if it had come out a few years later when there was an animated feature oscar, I wouldn't have been surprised to see it make a go of it.

Have to say my knowledge of anime pretty much stops when I graduated college, and while there was a lot of it I enjoyed, it also brings me to mind of the roommate I had junior year (who was a freak and got the name "Beastmaster" from his choice of "auto-stimulatory films") who told his parents that the cafeteria food was inedible so they sent him money to order a pizza for dinner every night and he eventually discovered the video rental place next door to the pizza place and spent most of his pizza money on getting like 3-4 anime movies every night and staying up all night watching them (fortunately he only had classes 4 days a week and went home Friday through Sunday every week). So while I enjoyed a lot of what I saw, it still makes me think of the Beastmaster and his weirdness. I think all the anime I had was on VHS and most of it got thrown away in my last move (though somewhere recently I acquired the dvd set of Cowboy Bebop and I have yet to watch that).

The guy wants to put something he likes on a jersey. The least he can do is make sure that it's not too loud.

I'm 50, but I still like occasional anime series, even though most of it IS stereotypical "schoolgirls in short skirts" fare, there are some good series that don't fit the stereotypical mold, like Last Exile, Ergo Proxy, Bartender, and Seirei No Moribito, for example.

... I'll stop, before I embarrass myself even further... Really, my avatar should have given away my anime addiction anyway...

- on this it says full digital sublimation. is that good? will the design last long?

- this one comes in long sleeves which is a plus for me but way more pricey.

Please, don't.

I would focus on something that is comfortable and fits right for my 1st jersey.

I have nothing against funny/weird jerseys, though i would be hesitant to wear something that looks too geeky.

I would not mind having this one. I own a bunch of Pearl izumi jerseys. Some pretty exotic ones even (like the " Japanese flag" jersey that say something like honor /valor on the front and overcome / adapt on the back). But none quite as " special" as this lol:

Well this is also true, although I do remember some pretty explicit images from back when I did read some comic books. I'm not THAT old!

I don't think I would recommend anyone putting images of scantily-clad superheroines on their jerseys either mind you.
