Castelli sizing?
 

Does it run smaller than Pearl Izumi? I wear 'S' in PI, both for jerseys as well as bibs. Should I order a M in Castelli?


This is what they say:

Note: Castelli has a "Euro" slimmer fit. We suggest ordering at least one size larger than your normal US size.

Just wanted to get soem practical feedback before ordering though.

definitely runs small. I normally wear a large, but always go x-tra lrg for all my castelli gear.

Runs small. For reference, I'm 6'5"/200lb

For bibs, an XL is a tight fit whereas in PI I can get away with L in shorts.
For a jersey though, I find I need to go up two sizes to XXL for long sleeve due to the arm pit size whereas an XL in short sleeve works fine.

Great stuff though and usually can be found on sale.

yes it does run small. I know Castelli is "euro" sizing and all, but I've never figured out why if the sizing chart says 40 in. chest, why the hell is it really about a 38? Anyway, size up one size and you'll be fine.

At least one up. Most of my jerseys are L, I bought a XL Casteli because I had read of their sizing and it is very snug. It my motivation to lose this 20lbs I'm needing to drop.

Definitely up - at least one. I'm a M in Pearl Izumi and Giordana bibs, but I had to go all the way up to XL for Castelli bibs. I have no experience with their jerseys.

Depends if the Castelli is real or a knock-off. The real ones run smaller.

M in most, L in Castelli for me.

All the above is true, and speaking of Castelli sizing, if anyone is interested in a white XL Leggero jacket, I've got one that didn't fit and that I replaced with a 2XL. Like new, of course, since I couldn't even pull it up to my shoulder! Name your price; I just want to get it off the bookcase!

+1 to their bibs running smaller, especially compared to PI.

Love my Castelli stuff. I have to go two sizes up.

I'm 6'1" @ 158lbs and I wear a Medium or Large in the Castelli jerseys I have. With Hincapie or PI, I wear medium and those flap in the wind a little around the shoulders and gut. The Castelli is certainly the tightest, but that was the point of me ordering that specific Castelli so I'm ok with that. I can fit into small PI/Hincapie, but they aren't long enough. It blows my mind - just how big are americans that a 6'1" dude can fit in a small?!

I have a castelli jacket and a cycling cap. The jacket is form fitted at a medium which is what I want. I found the sizing just fine.
I suppose I am euro sized (aka a normal sized human).

As others have stated i would size up one size. I once bought a castelli bib online having never tried their bibs. I ordered a medium going off the size chart. Big mistake. I couldn't even get the straps over my shoulders, if i forced it i probably would have tore the strap. Seemed like it was a youth size bib cause it was ridiculously small.

Castelli is sized correctly according to their sizing charts. They are NOT, however, vanity sized like some brands that are designed for US sale (e.g. PI, Primal etc.). Also, they are race cut which means they are tapered at the waist. Take all that into consideration when ordering.

Real Cyclist is part of the same group as Chainlove, the former Bonktown, Department of Goods, Competitive Cyclist, Back Country and others. I've ordered from several of these and have had good experiences with both purchases and returns.

don't worry, real cyclist is a great site. some folks own that that own Competitive cyclist. their products are the real thing, not knock offs.

BTW, if you buy any Capo stuff, in my experience, it runs just as small as Castelli, if not a bit smaller.

Yup definitely small, I can ccomfortably wear PI med or jerseys, lg shorts, LBS had some nice looking branded casstelli jerseys, they were team/race fit, XL fit but I got a XXL, I prefer club/loose fit.
