Oh man.... Bought a lynskey helix...
Ok... Wanted a helix, planned to buy over the winter, backed into a good deal on an R230 just a few months ago, perfectly happy with it, then along came a helix deal I couldn't pass up.
Bought a helix.
Came today, dropped off at LBS to swap out with the R230..
Any helix owners got some pics to show?

Lol.... True.. Guess i should have just
asked for pics, less lame sounding!
I should have taken a frame pic before, pulled it right from box and went
to lbs...
The cool part of the story is I bought
it from the lynskey loft as a 2011 repair
for well less than retail, but got a new 2013 helix
delivered!

Do you have an online photo account like photobucket? Posting pics as an attachment just isn't as good as linking to your account. Pics come out too small.

I have noticed a trend about how Don Erwin and Lynskey treat their customers - I think it is all part of some evil plan, but I don't care - I love my Lynskeys.

Good choice
My steed. 6 centuries on her this year so far, 2 on my other bike, and 2 more planned.

I would like to hear your opinion on the difference in ride quality. The Lynskey guys tell me that the Helix transfers power better and is noticeably faster.
An XL R230, Helix, Cooper or Sportive would fit me perfectly. If there was not difference in performance or ride quality, I would probably go for the R230 simply because it is cheaper and more traditional looking but if there is a performance difference, then Helix.

The Helix has straight, helixed stays, and of course the helixed top tube and downtube... gives it a stiffer for power transfer design. It should be faster than the R230, but also less forgiving.
I can't speak much for the Cooper or Sportive, I think they likely weigh more due to less aggressive butting, and may not have a bi-ovalized downtube (I don't know off the top of my head if the R230 even does).

There's an R340 here that isn't mine, I just hosted it for someone so he could post some photos on another site.

Can you post your observations on the differences between the two Lynskey frames? I would like to buy one of their frames some day but I am not sure which one.

I will, curious if I will be able to feel a difference , the geomitry is pretty similar, menel hit it on the r230, it is awesome and more than enough bike for me, but.. I just had to have a helix ..
swung by the shop today to see how it was coming, all built with a note saying " tune gears " so I figure I'll get it back tomorrow, shop owner had stepped out. It looked pretty sweet
