Motobecane Immortal Spirit
I just saw this bike on bikesdirect/bikeisland: https://www.bikesdirect.com/products/..._frameonly.htm
The price seems really good to me. Has anyone owned/ridden with this? Anything you can tell me?

Be prepared to receive a boat load of trash talk that will end up not answering your question. A very good friend of mine has THREE motobecanes. Other people may have different opinions and fight about whether they're rebranded fujis or not, but he absolutely loves every one of them. I believe he has plans on purchasing two more.

I have one bought from another retailer who probably has something to do with bikes direct. I have 6000 miles on it and love it!. It weighs 17.5 lbs in a 59 frame with 2 h2o cages. Not a bit of trouble and I have road many carbon frame bikes and this rides better than a Madone. Cannot really find anything to compare when you look at the price. It helps to have mechanical skills and I am a good wretch so I do not rely on the LBS. I just cannot see paying as much as $1000 more for a bike that has a "name" on it.

My first road bike was a motobecane from bikesdirect.com. Ordering from them was a good experience, and it was a good bike for the money, till it got stolen.
I'd say that frame is a safe bet, You know you're getting your moneys worth. That piece looks pretty cool too.

I have the Immortal Pro and have put about 500/600 miles on it in the month I've owned it, Can't say anything bad about it. You get a lot for your money and everything came through very well.

I have the Immortal Pro from 2005 and about 19k miles on it. It's a solid performer. Mine has the Ultegra 6603 group on it. A terrific step up from what I had before. I would buy it again. BD has a history of not so wonderful customer service and there is zero customization. But you can't beat the price for the material and components. If I had not built up my last bike I would have purchased the LeChampion CF.

Just curious, do you already have a bike with all the compatible parts you need to do a frame swap, or are you picking this as the basis of a build?

If you buy a full bike, it comes assembled, other than attaching the front wheel, handlebars and seat/post.
