bmc bottle cage thread
Hi i seem to of stripped the thread on my bmc bottle cage its a 2012 roadracer sl01 , does anyone know if is welded in or just a rivnut that can be replaced
its a carbon frame so wasnt sure how it is attached to frame .
I was trying to put my pump and bottle cage on the same point , wish i hadent of bothered now , its under warrenty but dont think this would be covered

You clearly angered the cycling gods with your attempted violation of rule #30.
Since a roadracer is a CF frame, as I recall, it probably isn't welded in since you can't weld to CF. A rivet nut is more likely. I doubt it's bonded with epoxy or anything to the frame from the inside. But if it were my frame, I would take it to the dealer.

well after two weeks of waiting bike is getting repaired next week, back to new, also getting shimano ultegra groupset fitted at the same time plus carbon peddals
