What are the differences between inner tubes?
Other than Valve length / type, what are the main differences with all the inner tubes out there?

I just put up a page about my perspective on them, at bicycle tube choices.

There's a difference in thickness for regular, light and ultralight tubes. I can't tell the difference in flat protection but I use light or ultra light tubes as spares on the bike because they fold up smaller.

Here's a thread on latex tubes
https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...-what-happened
They are lighter, faster, and resist punctures a little better. They actually reduce rolling resistance and make any tire quicker. The downside is they cost more, lose air more quickly, and don't last as long.

Bontrager Race XXX Lite are good for that because they come shrinkwrapped and easily slide into my small saddle bag. The shrinkwrap comes in handy when it's a rear flat cuz you can use it as a barrier to pinch the derailleur out of the way. Keeps incidental grease contact off your fingers (and subsequently bar tape)

I never actually felt any difference between tubes (regardless of price) but never tried latex tubes.

I carry a pair of latex gloves in my saddle back for just this reason. Yes, I have been laughed at and asked what the point was, but the fact is, when I need to fix a flat or make any repair I have no concern for grease or any crude. Just an idea, they don't take up any space.

I like the ultralights. They seem to be the same in terms of puncture resistance, but they're lighter. I'm no WW, but if there's no difference, I always go with the lighter option.

I'm not sure what's clever, or if you are even serious, but no, I've never made more than about 2 cents an hour for my time putting up sites. That whole 'get rich quick off the internet' stuff is just a bunch of garbage.
Since I do have sites up already whenever I feel like expressing something, I do on a site.

Dont know about gloves. I just take some paper tissues with me that come in those small plastic bags. I can use them to wipe my hands, and they come in handy for all sorts of things
