oh yeah! my season is FINALLY here!
hopefully in the next week or so... i won't need to ride like a vampire and start joy riding in the day time again.
so glad summer is over. still hot but woke up today to a nice cloudy sight, that's a good sign.
i can't wait to be able to start doing my 65 mile route again. i've just been doing 20 sometimes 30 mile night rides, 2 sometimes 3 times a week this summer.
also... time for some dramatic walks under falling leaves. ^_^

I know what you mean. It is SO great when the heat starts easing up and fall begins. I notice you're in L.A., I'm in Louisiana where it's even worse -- far worse - because of the extreme humidity. Fall and winter are my favorite times for outdoor activity.
Fall also marks the opening of hiking season. I'm going to make my first backpacking trip of the year in a couple weeks to the southern Appalachians, maybe in Nantahala. Leaves will be starting to turn and nights will be chilly. Excellent!

We have it made in SoCal so Im not expecting much sympathy for your plight
No 110 degree days for weeks, very little humidity, no Black Ice, snow, or sub freezing temps. Kind of like saying one has too much money to spend and are glad the sales are over so the stores are less crowded
A little humility will keep us in paradise from looking like a bunch of candy asses
