Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cannondale 1999 R2000 Opinions?

Hi,

I was wondering whether anybody had any experience with the old Cannondale R2000 from 1999. Thanks.

Specs on Bikepedia make it sound pretty decent. 6500 groupset, relatively light frame and fork. Probably could be a competitive racer or weekend rider bike today. All depends on the miles and $$ though.

Do you have any reason for saying that? Just curious.

I rode a 99 R800, same frame w/105 components. Great bike. I bought it off CL in 2009 for $400 with a sticky right brifter, sold it last year for $500.
