New Upgrades to the CAAD 9
So today I got in all the new 3T carbon stuff and installed it, along with the new Sram Red Ergo shifters and Yaw FD. I got the 3T LTD Ergonova carbon handlebars in size 44, a 100mm 3T LTD stem, and 3T LTD seatpost. I only got the stuff installed and adjusted and rode it on the trainer for awhile to be sure the bars and shifters were properly adjusted and set up correctly before I tape the bars either later tonight or tomorow. Here are a few pics for your review........ If you see anything I've missed, let me know before I tape 'em up.

sorry for the cell phone pics...........

Like the "made in the USA" flag on that frame. Was '09 their last year making them in the States?

Nice modifications there for the CAAD 9, now when you get time a ride report would be nice, too. Kudos for the Flag/"Handmade in the USA" decal, wish my CAAD 10 had the same bragging rights.

I just love that feeling when you step on the pedals, and the bike feels like it's going to shoot out from underneath you. I know I only lost probably a couple hundred grams with the 3T Doric LTD seatpost, bars, and stem, but the loss of road vibration is just great!!

Pretty sure your C2 post is carbon wrap aluminum.

yup, he's right. the carbon post that came with the CAAD is carbon wrapped aluminum. So, the short answer is, there is a difference. Weight, and feel. The Doric seatpost is all carbon, not carbon wrapped alloy. It weighs almost nothing. Yours is heavier that just aluminum, as you have to add in the carbon weight. sorry, but is there a noticable difference? for me, yes. I could feel the difference with the true carbon. It dampens the road vibration and is easier on the body. It also weighs less.

ok, just having done some internet research, it appears that your C2 is either alloy or carbon. If it's carbon, it is about 80 gms. heavier than the 3T. If it's alloy, well, then we're comparing apples to oranges.

I'm positive its full carbon. BikePedia says "Cannondale C2 UD Carbon" My last bike had carbon wrap and you could see the edges of the wrap (where they met/overlapped), this one is definitely full carbon. The 2012 CAAD10 5 105 has "Cannondale C3 carbon wrap".

80g doesn't sound like much...think the Dorico worth the extra $130? Unless the carbon was of higher quality or different somehow, seems like it wouldn't be noticeable except to be a weight-weenie (and match 3T ARX Team Stem, although I'd be getting 3T Ergonova Pro bars, as the Team bars are a bit expensive for my tastes, nor do I want carbon bars/stem to have the possibility of failing in a crash/race).

FPSDavid: Well, I went from a 3T full carbon with setback (Dorico) to the Doric which has no setback, so carbon to carbon, other than the zero setback, no difference.
I have the 3T ergonova pro bars that I just took off. Had 'em for about 5 months, excellent condition, size 44 if you want 'em, LMK.
