2013 C'Dale Synaspe 5 carbon worth it ?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

2013 C'Dale Synaspe 5 carbon worth it ?

Hey all,

I'm looking to purchase this bike and would like to get advice/input if this it's worth the $2100+

If anything, what other brands would you recommend for the price range of $2000+

Thanks for your time !

Yes, worth that price.

Compare to the Specialized Roubaix or Giant Defy

I had a 2011 Synapse 5 and loved it.
More than my Supersix HiMod I have now.

Have you considered a titanium bike like Lynskey?

The Lynskey Cooper, Sportive or R230 should give you a ride characteristic similar to the Synapse.

Check out www.lynskeyperformance.com and the reviews on roadbikereview.com.

You can also chat online with the Lynskey folks.

After owning a synapse for a year or so, Id get any frame with a standard round seat post and a standard bottom bracket before the synapse. The current synapse seat post is an absolute abortion of an after thought going from aero frame to round post with a clamp stuck on top. I HATE mine but no other post will fit that frame. BB30 will creak dispite using loctite on the bearings too.

EDIT: just looked and they may have changed the post design this year in which case i take back the comment about the seat post.

Yes. I wound up with a CAAD, but the Synapse was very close. That is a great bike, and is a screaming deal with the 105 group.

I road tested Synapse Carbon vs CAAD 10 and it was much more comfortable on Synapse. Also this sealed it for me. Editor's choice.
