Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

First 100

Ok I just completed my first 100 miler. I did it in 5:15 this was in Napa the Tour de Cure Diabetes ride. It was an experience that I think I’ll do again. The head wins picked up at approx mile 80 and was able to tag onto a wheel for that windy section. Man did that help out.

Just take your time dude. Is it with some buddies or is it supported? With rest stops. I thought that’s what I would have needed. (Rest areas) but it was not the case. Other than stopping for some H2o and a little peanut butter I was all good. My longest before that was 67 miles. Alright good luck bro.

You rode a century averaging 19mph and you're telling him to take his time?
