Specialized shoe sizing

Does anyone here have experience with Specialized shoe sizing? The US numbers seem way off to me. I'm wondering how big the jumps are with whole sizes. I have a pair of 47s right now, but they're pretty snug. I'm wondering if 48s would be the right move, or if they'd be too big. The footbed measurement on my shoes (the 2012 Pro Road shoes) is 30.2 cm. How much larger are the 48s?

I wear size 9.5 in New Balance and 43 in Specialized shoes. The problem is that they keep changing the shoe lasts (molds???) so the width dramatically varies between different shoes in their line.
I bought a pair of Specialized Pro (one step below S-works) and they were **narrow** even in the wide sizing. Returned those and got the Comp (Carbon sole) in 43 normal and they are awesome.

I wear a pair of size 48 Specialized Body Geometry shoes and i'm a size 13. My shoes are very comfortable, not too narrow or wide.

The sizes seem pretty wide on the top end. I wear a 12 in almost every shoe, and my foot is wide. The 47 feel narrow, but have broken in over time. I still have some discomfort as the sole does not cover my whole foot, leaving part of my outer foot to rub on the edge of the rigid sole. I tried the 48's first, and they were like clown shoes on me. The jump seemed like much more than one size. Mine are the elite touring shoes, btw.

Yeah, I found there is quite a bit of variation. The last pair I bought via the internet, I ordered two sizes and sent the one back that didn't fit as well.

Thanks everyone, this is helpful. I think I'm going to shop around and look at some other brands. The difference between the Specialized 47s and 48s seems to big for me to work with. Shame they don't make half sizes for us big-footed guys!
