Any '12 allez elite owner here?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Any '12 allez elite owner here?

I am looking at the 2012 full tiagra allez elite:

https://kozy.com/product/12specialize...t-130917-1.htm

What is your experience with this bike? I was looking for full 105 but Specialized mix in some tiagra parts for 500$...

Thanks

I was a former owner of that exact bike. I actually purchased it in June and sold it in August I put about 600 miles on it. I ended up getting a tarmac elite in its place. I got a good deal on the tarmac and only lost $100 on the sale of the allez.

about the bike (allez elite 12) very good bike. wheels kind of sucked but the tiagra is as good as the 105 I have now. the ride is decent. I think the tarmac feels a little tighter around corners and descents.

If you upgrade the wheels its an awesome bike.

Awesome bike IMO. We have one at the shop (we sell them) that we put a set of Zipp demo wheels on and let people ride, as well as ourselves...it was a darned good riding bike. IIRC you should be looking at a retail somewhere in the area of $1400 for that bike?

thanks for the input guys. seems to be a good bike might go check it out tomorrow. I checked the MSRP is 1350, hopefully I can haggle it down below 1 thousand since this is the end of year...
