6700 Shifter problem

So I just got my hands on some used 6700 shifters and was putting them on my bike when I noticed a small problem. There was a spring sticking out of the bottom of the left lever about ready to fall out. So I carefully removed it.

At first I wasn't sure what it was but it turns out it's the lever return spring. Overall the spring action of the brake caliper brings the lever back without any issue and it doesn't feel any different for that matter. The only way I noticed it was by squeezing the caliper than squeezing the lever only to notice the lever didn't return.

So my question is, is this spring easily placed back where it needs to be or is it never going back in? If so does anyone have any documentation or pictures of where it should be? The bike brakes fine and you don't notice it and it shifts without any issues. My main concern is if I ever plan to sell them. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

That's exactly what I need...now to figure out how to get it back in.
