Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Happened to me the other day. It was ridiculous. I yelled out that I was coming up behind her and she paid no attention. Ended up slamming the brakes because her dog decided to run right across the trail. And then she had the gall to tell me I need to pay attention.

Absolutely. I have a ton of fun with it. It's funny when they get bent out of shape. The real peeve is when they engage in unsafe riding, putting themselves and others at risk, just to get an edge in an imaginary 'race'. This is the worst on MUPs.

To tag onto this, I hate people that sit in without saying anything. Hey random guy that I didn't know what back there until I heard your shifter click, a heads up would be nice.

I'd say everything stated in this thread sums me up, with a focus on motorists.

I'd also like to add: chewing loudly.

There is a kid on my team I can hear chewing all the way across the loud cafeteria. I could be in the world's best mood going in there, but as soon as I hear him, I just want to throw a punch. Food is supposed to be tasted, not heard.

Cyclists who blow snot rockets, even if they don't hit me. Most disgusting thing on the planet - Especially women who do it

Cyclists who get angry that I don't announce myself when passing on left. Just hold your line and you'll be fine. I think its more of an ego thing for them. I've had more close calls by announcing myself because people get startled and squigly

Getting stuck behind idiots (especially those driving SUV's, trucks, and vehicles designed for rough conditions) who have to slow WAY down for the slightest bumps, gravel, or whatever. If it's no big deal on thin high pressure tires, it shouldn't be a big deal for people driving vehicles designed for stuff that's far rougher.

Motorist that feel they have to blow there horn at me when they are right next to me.

Others on bicycles that for whatever reason feel that riding on the wrong side, at traffic is ok.

Groups of bikers who insist on riding 2 or even 3 wide on MUPs, and paying no attention to who might be coming the other way. And then looking shocked when they hear me mumbling obscenities when they swerve at the last moment.

"Road" cyclists who come on these forums to complain about what the other users on "multiple" use paths do to annoy them.

I feel like as a cyclist you can't win. You are either invisible and therefore hitting you is excusable or you are part of an arrogant herd out to annoy drivers who lack the confidence to pass you.
That goes beyond peevish. what a butstain that guy is.

Adults who ride on the sidewalk on an, otherwise, lightly trafficked area.

Idiot cyclists who ride against traffic

Cyclists who don`t obey traffic laws, then expect motorists to share the road.

People who insist if you don't race you shouldn't have carbon anything. The trend of flat black on flat black on blacked out bikes.
