My last ride was 22 miles on the Mountain to Sea Trail with the Mrs. It follows the Neuse river from Clayton NC to Raleigh NC and will eventually go from Tenn. to the Outer Banks.

Last real ride was a 60 miler in July when I busted my knee. Have done a few 15-20 mile rides since - averaging 12!

Well, winter in the northeastern United States started precisely on cue, Dec 21, with cold and plenty of snow. My last ride was less than a week before that. I road around in the woods with the dog on a mountain bike I built up from two donor bikes that totaled $70. Really awesome day. It was the first time I took her with me on a ride. I'm pretty sure she would score it as her best days day ever.

Central Texas slow ride through Bastrop State Park the day before New Years Eve - 50 degrees, dry, light wind, quite, falling trees in the distance from the forest fire damage, just enough clothing on, feet cold, hard trying not to sweat... Those of us still here - Happy New YEAR... And God Bless...

Sunday the 12/30 - 35 miles in West Peoria IL - out and back route down route 8. A balmy 20ish degrees F... 5 to 10 mph wind from the south. Nice and sunny!

My last real ride was 12/1 ...I'm a fairweather rider and still lack a jacket, so below mid 40s or so, I tend to stay in. It was good to get out though, as I got at least one ride in on the Supersix i just purchased.
I've been on the trainer a bit, and doing group training "rides" at a local trek store with some friends, it makes it a whole lot less boring then being at home...at home, I can't go more than 30-40 minutes without being bored. We got a trainer ride in last week that was almost an hour and a half.

Last ride of the year was a 44 mile ride up Angeles Crest to Red Box. Mt. Wilson was do-able due to snow. Temperatures ranged from 52 to 37 degrees. Wonder weather. I like to wrap up the last day of the year with a climb. I'm grateful that the weather allowed for the ride.
Swung by the Rose Bowl after the ride and saw some floats getting prepped for the Rose Parade.
Happy New's Year to all!

Started the day(12/31/12) with a solo 25 mile road ride out and back from the house. Then meet up with some buddies in the afternoon for 15 miles on the MTB to complete the double. Then today I did a 40 mile road ride with a group of about 12 to start the New Year off right.

Last ride: in Melbourne. Dec 30th. Great weather: I think it was about 24 degrees C (about high 70s F) and sunny.
I like to end my annual km total on or just above a whole or 'half-thousand' figure -- it's very frustrating if I finish just short of a thousand total.
I didn't look at my odometer in early/mid December until it was too late; too late to round up my annual total to what I wanted. I hate that. I couldn't ride on new year's ever, coz I had to work all day and night (a long country drive to play music), so I only had the last week, minus NYE and Christmas day, to try to get nearly 500km for 16,000km. I was already over 15,500km, but I wasn't gunna stop there with a week of great weather ahead.
With 3 riding days left, and I still needed 240km to get to 16,000km, with doesn't sound like too much, but I didn't wanna cook my legs for a group ride on Jan 1st. On the fourth last day, I did a pretty hard 85km, so I only did 35km on the 3rd last day, coz my legs were fried from the previous day. So, with 2 days left, I still needed 205km. I was busy on the 2nd last day, and only managed 47km. Boo!
Anyway, with one riding day left for me, I needed 157km to get to 16,000. I didn't make it. So, to answer the question , the last ride was a very nice 99km, mostly along the beaches on the east side of Melbourne's bay. The ride included a couple of hard TT-type efforts, but the most of the time I was just working on my tan.
Incidentally, 16,000km isn't that much for someone like me who has very little life off the bike. Bugger! I had a nagging quad injury all through Winter.
However, despite missed out getting to 16,000km by 58km, obviously for a total of 15,942km (~9,957 miles)

12/31 wasn't a bad day at all for riding in Ithaca. Got 35 miles in temperatures ranging from 28 to 31 F and reasonably dry roads. Considering there were a few much colder days with heavy snow and 25 mph winds the same week, which kept me on the #%@$ trainer, this weather was a welcome relief. Worked a few decent climbs of 0.3 to 0.6 miles with 5% to 8% grades - the kind of hills that are great for repeats. Toes got pretty cold, but I'll take it over another day of 2 hours on the trainer.
