Pads for CF rims

What's the latest on pads for CF rims with an emphasis on grip?

Which rims? If you use the wrong pads with the wrong rims it can damage them. My friend's Trek dealership regularly sees people with Bontrager carbon rims that they have ruined by using SwissStop yellows on them. The Bontrager cork pads work well on those rims. But if you use cork pads on Reynolds it will void the warranty.

I'd start with the pads that your rim maker recommends. That will get you pads that don't void your warranty (look it up) and will get you the best braking of the pads that the rim maker tested.

The best pads are the pads of the same brand of wheel you are using them on. :p

Brillo pads for grip. Longevity not so good.

You did ask.

I will try that. Thanks all. If you can think of something that would shoot flames or sparks at night that would be cool.

I tried SwissStop yellows on my Enve carbon rims. They squealed loud and leave yellow material on the rim. I switched the Enve brand pads and 10x better. No more squealing and even stops better too! Go with the same brand as the rim.

The Brillo pads hurt my average speed so I went with the Swissstop black prince. Pricey but they are grams lighter.
