Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bikemate work stand from Aldi for $30. Sounds ridiculously cheap, but YouTube reviews sounded promising, and initial thoughts upon first assembly this morning look promising. Seems pretty sturdy and has more features than my $100 Nashbar stand. They only sell these 2 or 3 times a year, and they just went on sale today. I stopped by my local Aldi in the Memphis area and they had 8 or 10 of them on the shelf.

Interesting. Looks like a 5-legged version with the same(?) clamp as the Bikehand stand I've got my eye on.

Are you buying one? How long will the sale be on?

Yes I definitely got one. I threw my road bike commuter up on it last night and it seems quite sturdy. I like the little bar that holds the handlebars in place. Definitely a good buy for $30. They should be that price until they run out, since they only sell them a couple times per year.

It's a little different. That one on Amazon is probably a little easier to get adjusted and dialed in. However my Nashbar stand is a 2-leg version like that, and this 5-leg version feels much more stable.

Whoa, there's also an Aldi in Escondido, that's not far at all! Who knew?!

Weekly flyer for that particular store lists the stand, so imma try to pop out there and pick one up! I had to drive to work yesterday, if I had figured this out yesterday I would have made a lunch of it

Is Memorial Day is a good weekend for sales? I am itching to get a new set of wheels. However, most of what I have been looking at are handmade small builders such as Boyd, November, Flo, etc...

Folks looking for the best deal going right now on GP4000s. Found them $64 a pair at Ribble but they only had the 23s. Looking to get at least the 25s and or maybe even the 28s. Are you'll aware of any sales going on right now on these tires. Thanks!!

Ordered a pair of these.. I think this reflects something like roughly $100 off of a normal $170+ pair of tights. Not that I'll probably need them til the fall however.

Nashbar does at times have some good deals on their returns page. My issue is some of those items were sold weeks or months earlier. They had a real nice saddle and mountain bike peddles on there which have been showing sold for the last 3-4 months. Makes me wonder, if they intentionally leave some items, which have been sold, on the page as teasers to keep folks coming back. Kind of deceptive if you ask me. For this reason I don't watch their returns as much as I used to.

On return items.I can not remember seeing stock that is sold out and they keep it on the returns page. But I'll look closer next time.
I think the best deal I got on returns was my Mongoose Selous Sport Gravel Bike for $270.
The order history page is always incomplete for me.

Also good deal if you do not want to spend $99+ to get free shipping.I think they only charge $4.99 for most items.

I think it is A great deal if it fits.

If you click on the item right below the shipping options button you will see a note stating "Sorry this item is out of stock and cannot be purchased at this time." The bike you mentioned is a super deal but if memory serves me correctly when I looked at it yesterday it had already sold. The pro Griffin Airflow Saddle for $33.42 and the VX Mountain Peddles for $8.70 are both smoking deals. However they have been up on that page and sold for at least 4 months.

Nashbar is still a great place to order parts but when it comes to returned items good chance it was sold days or weeks ago.

I see the saddle and pedals you are talking about now.
The Nashbar Single-Speed was OOS and came back in stock.Cancel order maybe.
For the Touring I almost sure it was in stock when I posted,as I added it to my cart to see the total. No oversize shipping charges.

Anyways with the 25% and no oversize shipping charges,it would have been A great time to maybe buy A bike or wheelset.I was looking over at slickdeals and they posted about the Vuelta Corsa Lite 700c Road Bike Wheelset for $150 + Free Shipping. But they sold out soon after reading the post at SD.

Would not surprise me if Nashbar has A similar sale in the future. If I find any good deals tonight,I'll just edit this post.

In the watch world, jomashop is a well-known gray market dealer. I hear that their customer service is often crap, but I haven't heard of them selling counterfeit goods.
