New wheels for the Evo, new weight, 13.8 pounds as it sits here. Heavy saddle, under 13 pounds with a couple minor adjustments, but comfy the way its set up here. MF ceramic bearing CC's. Amazing acceleration, wonderful ride, cornering and climbing monster...http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=294954

It's a sin that you have not put hollowgrams on your Evo yet! Such a nice bike.

How do you like those wheels? Are they quiet?

Nachoman 01-22-13 05:18 PM

Nachoman approves of this bicycle.

Broid 01-22-13 08:13 PM

Thanks Alpine! One piece at a time...
Love the wheels Josh, very quiet, but they do make some sound and its a unique sound. Didn't know what I was hearing at first, to me its a soft whooshing sound.
Thanks Nacho, your approval means the world to me...
Evan, a better job or???

Great Odin's raven! That bike is hot!

Nicely done!

I know those madfibers cost more then whats in my bank account, but I do not find them aesthetically pleasing at all. I have a feeling they will become the rev-x or aerospoke of the new generation. I bet they ride pretty nice though.

THSdrummer 01-23-13 08:24 AM

I love it! The Evo, which in its self is great, combined with Madfiber wheels. I am definitely envious.

zatopek 01-23-13 10:14 AM

Your EVO is ridiculously sweet. I lust after such a bike. Those Madfibers are the cat's pajamas. A guy in our Sunday morning group ride/hammerfest has a set of Madfibers and I try to ride near him at high speed just to hear the pleasant hum those bad boys make. If I win the lottery, I'm gonna get me some of those wheels.

That is just one totally HOT MF'ing bike there dude!!! Absolutely awesome!!

Broid 01-23-13 11:41 AM

Wow, thanks one and all. Yes, it really makes for a sweet ride.
Escarpment, yes I agree. But when I was researching wheels in this price category the MF's were the ones that ticked all the boxes. So there were two trade-off's I had to make. One was with the higher profile and flat spoke design I knew crosswinds would be an issue, they are. The second was the looks. They are not beautiful wheels, but they have grown on me and at the very least they look radical. But what they ride like washes away all my concerns and trade-off's. The speed, comfort, braking and weight more than compensate for anything else.

You should use this on the headset and cut the fork so its clean on top of the stem.

That is an incredible machine, can't imagine what a bike of that caliber rides like.
