Trouble with FSA Italian thread bottom bracket / cranks
I bought an FSA Italian thread bottom bracket for my Fondriest, I thought it would work with my FSA Omega cranks. The FSA Website indicates that the Omega cranks and the bottom bracket i bought are both Mega exo compatible. Well, that's not all there is to it. The spindle on my omega cranks was way too small in diameter. It wont work. Is there different FSA spindles or did i buy the wrong bottom bracket? Do i need specific cranks? Help...

A threaded BB type works with a smaller diameter crank spindle you reference.
So something isn't right with your description. If you have a camera, snap a pic of different parts if you want a solid answer...or try to provide a better parts description.

That crankset comes in 2 sizes... megaexo and bb30 (website). Who knows what you have in there, w/o a picture is hard to tell. As for your frame, i imagine is the regular 70 mm wide italian threaded BB shell.
If you have the bb30 version of the cranks, those wont work with the bike, as simple as that. Post a picture, who knows what you have in there.

Here's some pics. The diameter of my spindle is 18.7mm, the bearing diameter and what spindle size I need is 24.5mm. What FSA cranks might be compatible? And is there a spindle length difference on Italian bikes?

A picture is worth 1000 words.
I have some bad news...you bought the wrong BB for your crankset.
FSA is not only guilty of making less than excellent cranks...but with a proprietary twist with their differentdia. cranks including 19 and 24mm spindle models and a naming convention that doesn't do a good job of keeping them apart.
You need a 19mm specific BB for your italian thread frameset. Best course to mitigate further mistakes? Contact FSA customer service and ask them for the name and part number of the specific BB you need...in your case...you want an external bearing BB for 19mm spindle and increasingly rare Italian thread.
Other option is to cut your losses and upgrade to a decent crankset...like Ultegra...will save weight and gain reliability with their BB.
Do not buy a BB30 crank...it will not bolt to your threaded BB.
HTH.
Good luck.

Typically, if a BB30 crank, it is referenced in the description.
Good luck.
