Help finding the right bike

Hey guys and gals. I've been lurking around here for a while but haven't posted anything. I have been on the hunt for a road bike to start riding and haven't found anything that fits comfortably. I'm a short guy, at 5'2" and have been sized on multiple bikes at 3 different bike shops that are local to me. They always seem to be alright in the shop, but then after about a half hour in the saddle I can't get comfortable at all. I'm also having a good bit of trouble finding one that I can stand over in a manner that is unpainful if you catch what I'm saying. I have an inseam of 28-29 inches. It has been suggested that I try a road bike sized for youth, but none of the shops carry anything in stock. I have also been trying to find a smaller frame with 650c wheels, but have the same problem, cannot find any in stock anywhere. Any suggestions on what to do?

Probably a 48 cm frame is right. Shop around they are out there. Or go with compact geometry frame. The top tube slopes downward towark the rear. HYbrids/crossbikes seem to like this design, just not many carbon road bikes.

I currently have a 47cm compact single speed. I cant stand over the top tube on it.
