Thoughts on Orbea Aletta?

I'm looking for cheap but good used road bike. This has popped up on the local craigs list: http://honolulu.craigslist.org/oah/bik/3617653621.html
Assuming the fit is good is it a decent deal?
I found another orbea aletta on ebay with all dura ace components and carbon seatpost/stem for only 500 (opening bid and has no bids yet) but shipping is $100+. While at face value it sounds like a much better deal I wouldn't get to see it first and it would be shipped 3000+ miles. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-Orbea-R...71125284021%26

I wouldn't be competitive in any races but I would like to do some longer distance rides of 40+ miles.

It's interesting that you found two Alettas for sale, configured as road bikes. The Aletta is actually a slack STA TT bike, originally configured with aero-shifters and a base-bar. If the particular geometry works for your (configured as a road bike), it's a fine bike and probably a good option for draft-legal triathlons; if you like using aero bars, it's an easy fix on this bike, since it's native STA is 76-degrees. Perhaps abit long in the tooth compared to todays carbon-fiber wonders, but I'm a fan of aluminum (my two roadies are a 2004 Orbea Lobular and 200? Orbea Aqua).

As far as the price - if it's 105 10spd, meh...that's a decent starting point. If it's 105 9spd, meh...still not too bad, though you might ask for alittle discount. (I still run 9spd on my aluminum TT bike, so 9spd isn't so horrific, at least to me).

I checked it out today. It has a triple up front and either 9 or 10 in back- I didn't count. Everything thing was 105 or ultegra except the front derailleur which was missing its brand label. It did not like shifting to the big gear ring either. Strange since the guy claimed to have had a tuneup at a top lbs just a week ago.

There was also some other minor damage to the bike also. Not too bad but enough for me to not wanna pay 699 for it.

I will keep looking.
