derailleur cable in contact with mudguard help?
Hi, I've recently bought a mudguard set, and when I attatch the front mudguard to the bike frame, it is in contact with the derailleur cable which also goes along the frame, will it affect the gear changing, etc?
One other question, I have a small pouch under my bike saddle, but because my frame is quite big, I have small space underneath the saddle because I need the space to attatch my rear lights, where can I put it? I tried putting It underneath the saddle but in front, it keeps touching my legs when pedalling, where should it attatch it to?
Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

Are you saying that there isn't enough clearance between the back of your front tire and the down-tube of the frame for a mudguard to not interfere with the cables that run down it?

And yes, you definitely need to take some pics of what you're talking about to illustrate your problems.

You can tell if it affects shifting by riding the bike. Probably it won't, unless the cable (not the housing, but the cable inside it) is exposed there and rubs.
You'll have to work out the light/bag relationship on your own. I'd probably use a small handlebar bag, but you might also attach the light to a chain stay or attach the pouch to the front end of the top tube with (perhaps) a Velcro strap.

hi this is how the mudguard is. in picture 1, i showed how the strap touches the derailleur cable, will it be okay? if it go over the cable, it will also touch it. it is located in the frame (not fork)
this is about the pouch, i recently strapped it in the weirdest position possible, connecting to the bottle cage. i tried (A), but it keeps on moving when i turn the handle, tried (b), but it came in contact with my legs, and the place where it should be located (c) but theres no space left because the frame is quite big for me

Ok, I think you may have just bought the wrong gear for your bike...
You bought mudguards, but really, they don't belong a road bike. If it were a mountain bike, cross or even hybrid, then that's a different story that may make sense.
But for a road bike, it's overkill and you'd be much better off with proper fenders, IMHO.
In any case, from your pics, it definitely seems like the downtube mudguard isn't well suited for your particular bike. Either the cable or the strap (or both) will fray at the point of contact and prematurely fail.
You may be able to jerry-rig an alternative mounting solution, or change the mounting placement - it's impossible to tell without physically being in front of the bike.
As for your saddle bag, it should hang underneath your seat - but first you'll have to get rid of either the mudguard or your taillight because that area isn't big enough to accommodate all 3 things.
If you replace the mudguard with a proper fender, you'll be able to move the mount for your taillight to the bottom of your seat post, flip the light so it's hanging down and have plenty of room for the bag.

When I saw the pictures i thought the OP was going to rant about the bike design because the manufacturers never thought in his set up
You have to get road bike fenders.

I'm sorry, but those mudguards are not worth devising a solution for.
Crud Roadracers, Race Blade Longs, or PDW Full Metal should all fit your bike and not interfere with your cables. They will also provide much better coverage. You will be drier and happier and so will your riding companions.
Saddlebag should attach to the saddle rails and seatpost. Many bags even have a loop you can clip a light to on the back.

This poor kid needs help... mud guards, dork disk, platform pedals, 30mm of spacers, doesn't know where to properly hang his saddle bag...
Where does he live? If there are any other BFers near him, they should volunteer to go help on humanitarian grounds. Save the children... Save a roadie newb from himself.
