You two can use the "Hot Now!" sign as a starting light.

LowCel 03-01-13 07:30 AM

Anyone else see the sign at Krispy Kreme that said they now have Oreo Donuts?

And we wonder why were a nation (U.S.) of fatties, let alone in this thread.

Your point would be better punctuated with better punctuation.

I don't think that anyone in this thread wonders why we're a nation of fatties...

I think we do, especially Pcad. Otherwise we wouldn't be hearing about it every day and the problem would have been solved by now.

This question wont be addressed until you can remove the proffit making potential from the cause.

truckstop 03-01-13 08:00 AM

i'm trying to remember if i've ever even stepped foot in a krispy kreme.... i guess only if it was part of a gas station and they didn't actually make them there.

dunkin' donuts however, there's one we stop at every time we go to a certain track for coffee and coffee cake muffins.

dammit. now i'm getting an urge to make cupcakes.

anyway. doughnuts are not a great incentivizer.

Depends on what you are referring to as 'the cause'. I suspect I will agree, but you are being vague.

That's an odd calling out. What makes you think that he doesn't understand what affects his own weight and how that applies to the people in general? I think he's got a pretty good handle on it.

Knowing the solution is far different from implementation and follow-through.

You are wayyyy too serious this morning. Just sayin' it gets old hearing about Pcad's never-ending battle with getting back to his original birth weight.

I agree with you on your last statement. Bottom line is that we are all responsible for what we put in our bodies. I don't blame the McDonaldses and the Pizza Hutses, but I do take issue with the Weight Watchers and the Nutri Systems, which are the equivalent of the Pharmaceuticals in the medical world. Helping perpetuate the cycle all the way to the bank.

ls01 03-01-13 08:24 AM

well I dont mean to be vague, I just dont like typing on this phone.

Where to start, processed foods, the constant marketing of "comfort" type foods, fast food, and fda that is nothing more than a rubber stamp for proffit making? Make the population fat and unhealthy, then **** em for health care.
No, no one is holding a gun to anyones head. But it is hard to say no.

Okay. I can't really say that him kvetching about his weight sticks out in my mind.

Sure, and there's reason to take issue with them, but my original statement stands - I don't think that anyone in this thread wonders why we're a nation of fat-asses.

Agree.

However, I don't think it's just the food.

The swing away from manufacturing jobs and occupations that are more active because blowing a wad of money on a four year degree and desk jobs is the thing to do, hurts us too.

I regret getting into a field where I have to sit for a living. The best thing about my current job is that it involves periodic projects requiring physical work.
