Sunday, 21st Nov 1pm at cafe racer? I'm in! I'll double check with the social coordinator tonight.
Standard disclaimer - I'm fat and slow and haven't ridden in a bunch since I was 18. You've been warned
Update on the brakes - I've put in my dealership rego form. Everything seems kosher and the ZeroG people seem pretty nice, so I should have a price list tommorrow fingers crossed. The super-dooper ones with Ti everything are about 170g a pair, DA10 is 315 a pair - 145g weight saving. Not sure how much or how heavier the 'budget' version will be, but at over USD100 cheaper then the Ti ones, I think they're the ones to have. I'll keep yas posted.
Congrats on the pur-chase too, Saccy.

Yeah, I am a chicken. And no doubts I'll have to pay for this somewhere down the line. Such is life though. She deserves some toys as well. As for how I'm going to break it to her, I'm going to polish it up until it glistens then show it to her. She likes pretty things. So hopefully she'll think it's pretty enough to be worth what I paid. She's almost the same height as me with almost the same leg length, so I might have to give her first ride.
So nah, I'm just going to suck it up, and take me lumps.
Thanks tiger.

Hey quick question. Do hub have to wear in to start rotating with less friction?
Why I ask, just reading this post with a dude complaining he's no faster on his new Specialized Allez Elite than he was on some old bikes. This reminded me of a trip I just took with two mates, one on a brand new Orbea flat barred roadie, the other on a Hybrid that had done many miles. I was on my 1991 Trek 920 mountain bike with the original STX hubs and semi-slick tires. Anyway, I was the quickest roller, followed by my mate with the hybrid, with the new Orbea slowest. But that should have been the fastest as it would have had the best hubs and the narrowest, fastest tires. Only reason I could think was that hubs might be like car engines and they have to wear in to give their best. Is that the case?

I've only met wattsy, (& believe me that image is idelibly imprinted in my mind.!.....)...best & funniest idea wins....errr....nothing......well maybe 531 will tell you about his cervelo!....LOL
