New to road cycling looking for my first bike. up to $1000
Hi recently I wanted to pick up into road cycling. I have never had a road bike nor do i know a lot about the sport but I was looking to get into it to keep me in shape and maybe in the future do some events.
I have up to 1000 dollars to spend and i live in Canada.
Can you guys help me out to find a good bike to fit my range.
Im 5'9 and around 150 pounds.

My buddy did this same thing last year.
He ended up with a Specialized Allez. It was a good season for him and he really racked up some miles. I think he spent $1050 on a new last years model.

In Canada, for 1k, a non-current Allez with a mix of 105 and Tiagra is a pretty good buy. Trek also has bikes in this range but with Sora.
I would try and stay with the 105 equipped bikes.

I have always considered this one of the best values out there.

I rode the Immortal Force for 6 years and 19k miles. It is much the same except an entire carbon frame. It can be timing to find them in stock, they sell quick. At 5' 9" you probably need a 54 or 52 cm frame. You can always make it feel bigger but you can't cut it smaller.
As far as fit there are numerous general rules. If you ride with others use their help. Pay attention to discomfort. Make small adjustment 1 or 2 at a time. When it is right leave it alone.
