Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Lizard Skins DSP 3.2 for me, too. Utterly delightful texture to touch, and offering very positive engagement. Cleans up in snap with soapy water.

I like cotton tape. Lately I've been using Newbaum's. The colors are great.

Used Fizik Microtex in the past. Switched to Arundel Gecko and now prefer it.

I thought Fizik was the best until I went with DSP. I can't imagine anything being better.

I really hate the feel of the Lizard Skins. I use Specialized Roubaix tape.

Eh... no thanks.
I thought the original question was "best" not "cheapest" or "what do you use".....

...in any case, the correct answer to any "what's best" thread is "it depends"....

Love Bike Ribbon but the white gets super dirty quick so Fizik for white and Bike Ribbon Eleganza for black.

It's kinda like buying Brooks bar tape. You spend the money once and actually save in the long run.

Unless you ride in the rain and/or crash a lot, then...

Actually not sure how Brooks tape is in rain. I know I didn't care for leather saddles on daily rain rides, then storing in damp garage overnight. They required too much care.

Since i wear gloves, does not matter much. That said, some thicker cork ribbon works well for me. Easton is what I replaced my last road bike with a few rides before I sold it. Liked it enough.

Will probably end up with Specialized Roubaix tape, I'm going to put their 2.5mm bar phat gel padding on my bar. My allez had it and it def made for a comfy ride!

Fizik tape is on the bike right now, when that wears out I will trade it out for DSP 3.2; if that sucks I will likely try specialized roubaix, and from there back to Fizik most likely.
