Real Design Supersonic Carbon Wheelset
 

I'd appreciate any feedback from long term users of these wheels. I'm not a racer, but want a great wheelset for training, climbing and centuries. Thanks!

i don't think there are a lot of long-term users of real design wheels. the company went into receivership a few years ago and was acquired by the american bicycle group [owner of litespeed and merlin] in 2003. last year was the first year that they had a full line of wheels.

having said that, the wheels look quite good on paper. i suspect that they're made by another carbon wheel manufacturer, though.

No actually there made in Chattanooga TN where almost everything else the make is. I bought a 2004 Litespeed Tuscany with the Supersonic's on it and although they rode nice they started a popping noise on the rear wheel after about 100 miles. Litespeed replaced it with a new one and it started squeking after about the same mileage so they upgraded me to Ksyrium SL's and after 4500 miles no problems at all. They may have corrected it by now, because that is when they first came out, but the first ones where not that great.

i've actually heard some good things about their wheels this year. i'm getting a litespeed soon, and i plan to go wimthe the real design hyperfdly wheels.
