Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

09 CAAD 9 Bottom Bracket question

Hey, I am in the process of building up a new(to me) CAAD 9. I am using some parts off of my old bike. I want to keep my Truvativ ISIS Drive Elita cranks from my old bike, but im not sure what bottom bracket to use in my new CAAD frame that will also work with the cranks I have(and also keep the correct chainline). I think its supposed to be a 68mm shell, but im more concerned with spindle length. Does anyone know? I know its probably a total amature question but I do not know. Thanks for the help

Did the 09 Caad 9 come with a BB30 bottom bracket? It will have a BB30 sticker under the downtube if it did and the BB shell will not be threaded.

If it is threaded - and 09 may be - you are fine to use your old crankset and bottom bracket. If not, you will need to purchase one of Cannondale's conversion kits. It permanently converts a BB30 bottom bracket to a standard bottom bracket.
