Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I have an Easton EC90 carbon bar with a Ritchey WCS Stem. Did anyone every get flaking(i.e. chipping, wearing) off of the clear coat where the handlebar meets the stem?

Tomcbiker, I have the same bar mated with a EC70 stem with no clearcoat issues, although my EC90 seapost lost a good portion of the clearcoat even after going to extreme measures to clean the seat tube. As riphraf says it's only cosmetic and shouldn't cause you any problems. Don't worry, but please make sure you don't over tourque the clamp, I learned that lesson the expensive way!
