Ha, trying to ride. I wish I could work 3 days a week, 4 day weekends would be wonderful. I used to work 12-14 hour shifts back in college and only had to work 3.5 days a week. Had every Thursday night off, plus Friday-Sunday. I drank a lot.
If it's a white jersey, you'll most likely see the straps. If its a bit darker or has some graphics on it, the straps blend in a bit.

I always were a black base layer when I ride, but I've never noticed it on others I ride with.

Are you telling me that you wear bibshorts at work? but, you're worried about what they might say if wore the same ones back to back...

I'm trying to RIDE to work 3 days a week. Monday I drive to work, bring in extra dress clothes to wear Tuesday-Thursday, then Friday I drive to take it all home. That way I don't have to carry a backpack full of clothes every day to work. I also brought in some basic toiletry items so I can freshen up at work.
It's just that living in AZ, it's already in the 90's and getting hotter by the day. The new Ultra's were the first and only pair of bibs I had and didn't want to wear the same bibs and jersey to work every day because I figured my coworkers would start to question my cleanliness. Not only that but I really don't want to smell my own funk every day either. Because of this, I got the $20 clearanced nashbar bibs thinking even if they suck, they should suffice for a trip into the office and back home.

Ed, these bibs are about as comfy as they get. I've used them on 2 rides of anout 80 miles with no issues, and a couple of 5 mile rides.
I'm very happy with these bibs do far. I can't tell any difference between these and my PI bibs that cost about $175.
Time will tell, but I'm very happy with these so far.
For your commute any short/bib should work, but make sure they are dry on the way home. Moist chamois will cause pain.

Here you go - https://www.voler.com/browse/product/li/1110554
Before balking at the price, search for a coupon code. These are outstanding bib shorts.

oddly, after years of being a diehard PI fan and also owning nice bibs from Assos and Louis Garneau, my favorite shorts and bibs are all recent offerings from Performance. They finally got something right.

I just finished a 72.76 mile ride in high 80 degree breezy weather, and have no complaints with these bibs. They seem to be a bit longer than PI Pro bibs(a good thing for me), and seem truer to size than the previous Performance Ultra bibs. Normally I wear a medium PI Pro bib + small Performance Ultras. This pair of small bibs seems a bit tighter at the cuff, but is a very wide flat band without grippers/ elastics, so it works just fine.
Overall, I'm very happy with them. The only remaining question I have with them is durability, and only time will tell.

As far as the bibs go...
I love the bibs, but after about 90 uses(and machine drying) the chamois will start to delaminate. It's no big deal because Performance will replace them free of charge. They know it's an issue, and there is no hassle at all.
I recommend them highly, and they are every bit as comfortable as PI PRO bibs that cost twice as much.

I like the performance bibs because they are longer, and my legs are very long(37.5" inseam).

PI pro bibs are great, but if money is an issue, performance is your best bet.

so you wear them and just return them when you feel they have worn out, not defective. just, "they're old, give me a new set"?

"I’ve been wearing both interchangeably for a few months, on all types of rides across varying distances up to a century...the only real difference I can tell between the two is in the slightly distinct fit each offers. The P.R.O. is tight-fitting and holds everything snugly in place, while the Elite is a little less snug, especially through the mid-section."

The chamois feels the same to me on both. Here's a comparison review of both from this site.

I own a few PI PRO bibs, and a pair of the PI Elites. They are both nice, but they aren't the same.

Bought both, other than a minor difference in fit I couldn't notice much difference in comfort so I exchanged the PRO's for Elites. The leg gripper on the PRO is a weak point IME. I ripped one just trying on some brand new PRO's. The Elite has a much more durable leg gripper. I think most people just assume the PRO's are better because they cost more.

Compared to some cheap RH Zero bibs I have that runs up and down and numbs my member :/
I ended up not getting the Performance bib because of the length. I might just have to get my PRO repaired and wait for another pair on eBay again.

hmm... I will wait for the 20% off discount and pick up a pair. The PI Pro bibs are just too expensive on Amazon.

It's only been models that I've purchased within the last 12-18 months, so I don't know about their long-term quality, but to date they feel as good as new: tight, supportive, form-fitting, and comfortable.
Although fwiw, I also have a couple pairs of Performance shorts that I bought in 2006, and while they're not my favorites, they're certainly not my least-favorites either, and it's only the fabric on the seat that's worn out in these past 8 years, not the elastic or chamois.
