Sram Red 22
|
Very cool. I've been trying to dig up an excuse to build up an SRAM build (my Ultegra doesn't deserve to be replaced yet).
So the "new" SRAM will feature shifters for 11 speeds only like the new Dura Ace? No options for 10 speed users? I wonder if they'll drop electronic shifting next year or a year later. Also interested in the disc brakes a little bit. The CX build I'm considering uses discs, which I'm neither for or against, but being able to keep it all SRAM would be cool. EDIT: There is another thread discussing it as well. http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...her-vapor-ware |
It looks to me like they're trying to keep some compatibility with Shimano in the interim before Sram drops their electric drivetrain. The new 11-speed shifters are not being offered (yet..) with the option for hydraulic brakes like the "old" New Sram Red shifters are about to be.

Good thing I held off on the "new" SRAM Red. :innocent:
Gonna get to see it at Sea Otter. |
I'm bumping this thread because they just intro'd the full lineup of RED22
http://www.bikeradar.com/road/news/a...details-37025/ I'm excited by the group and love the hydro brake calipers. Simple design and improved braking while retaining your current frame. Very tempting! Also like that they are using 11spd to "fill in" gear ratios instead of adding on either end of the cluster. |
