Boyd Vitesse or ROL Race SL and tire sizes when upgrading to wider rims
 

Both are great products. ROL has DT swiss pro lock nipples, is that much better than brass?

Also, to those who upgraded to wider rims did you use the same tire size? I'm currently on 25s and was wondering if I should go 23 since it is wider rims.

I've also heard people do 23 on the Front and 25 in the rear or should stay with the same tire sizes.

I ride vitesse, they are pretty solid all around wheels. True after thousands of miles. I can say i feel pretty secure going down hills at high speeds, cornering is excellent. But im not sure how much the rims have to do with that vs technique/experience.

Boyd has excelent warranty ans crash replacement. His prices are pretty good. Every wheelset is hand built.

What is your weight? With either choice I would consider going with the 24/28 spoke versions. I prefer brass nipples over the aluminum nipples on the ROL. I have the Boyds for FWIW, weight 180lbs and they've stayed true for 1000+miles, compared to a set of neuvations that I ended up cracking at the nipples.

Are pro locks aluminum? I don't understand why people use aluminum nipples. I've had issues with them cracking, seizing, breaking, and rounding off. I've never had a problem with a brass nipple. I only use brass now.
