Beginner Road Bike Price/Opinion - Caad 10

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Beginner Road Bike Price/Opinion - Caad 10

Hey Guys, I'm new to road cycling and just made my first purchase, is it a good deal? I only casually bike a old $400 trek hybrid the past few years and decided to upgrade to a road.

I believe this is a Caad 10-3? But when I google the the model it the colors doesn't look like a 10-3. Anyways I was just wondering if I made a decent/good deal, feel nervous purchasing a $1500 bike online.

well, that's a helluva first road bike, those CAAD's are pretty widely considered among the best AL bikes on the market, Ultegra components are excellent, if you're comfortable with the size you've got a bike you could ride for the rest of your life and never need more.

I wouldn't buy it. Hodgepodge of parts, could be had for less.

I'm biased as a CAAD owner, that is a nice bike, looks clean in pictures and it has a lot of upgrades, like the wheelset. Maybe a little high on the price, but only you will kknow if it is worth what you put in to it when you have some miles logged. My only question would be the fit of the bike for you, if it doesn't fit or you don't do the work to get it fitted you'll be miserable. Best of luck, I hope it works out, it is a good bike with some great components on it.
