What size is this stem?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What size is this stem?

It doesn't say anywhere on it, and I can't figure out where stems are supposed to be measured from and to.

Measured from: Bottom of hex hole in top cap. Either suggests 110mm or 120mm, depending on where the other end is supposed to be stopped (center of clamp vs. outside of clamp).

Measured from: Center of hex hole in top cap. Either suggests 100mm or 110mm, depending on where the other end is supposed to be stopped (center of clamp vs. outside of clamp).

Measured from: Edge of top cap. Either suggests 120mm or 130mm, depending on where the other end is supposed to be stopped (center of clamp vs. outside of clamp).

I think I need a 10-20mm shorter stem, would this compromise handling significantly if that means I need an 80mm or 90mm stem?

Should be fine on a 90mm.

You won't notice any difference . FWIW , I swapped a 110 for a 60 and did not have any issues.

As others have said, 100 mm. Sometimes manufacturers such as Ritchey stamp the extension on the inside of the clamp, where it contacts the handlebars; I'm not sure if Cannondale does.

As far as the handling is concerned, I think you'd be ok with a 90. When I had a fitting done, they swapped me out to a stem that was about 2 cm shorter, and I did not notice any adverse effect on the bike's handling.

Edit: This may be sacrilege on Bike Forums, but if your stem is angled down and you feel like the bars are too far away, maybe you would be able to get away with angling the stem up?
